AI Risk to Recurring Service: The MSP AI Practitioner Certification WorkshopYour customers are already using AI.
Whether it's Microsoft Copilot, AI agents, AI-powered business applications, or employee-led experimentation, AI adoption is happening faster than most organizations can govern it. As a result, customers are asking difficult questions:
- What AI is being used across the organization?
- What data can it access?
- Who owns it?
- What risks does it introduce?
- What should we fix first?
- How do we govern AI without slowing the business down?
Most MSPs understand these questions. Few have a practical and repeatable process for answering them.
This interactive four-hour workshop provides MSPs with a structured methodology for assessing AI risk, prioritizing remediation, and transforming governance into an ongoing managed service.
Working through a realistic SMB customer scenario, participants will apply a five-step framework: Discover → Assess → Prioritize → Remediate → Operate
Attendees will learn how to evaluate:
- AI usage, agent inventory, and ownership
- Data exposure and oversharing risks
- Permissions and access controls
- Security, resilience, and compliance considerations
- Governance and accountability gaps
- Adoption, business value, and operational readiness
Participants will work through realistic customer evidence, identify findings, distinguish observations from material business risks, prioritize remediation activities, assign ownership, and develop an executive-ready action plan.
The workshop does not end with a risk report.
Attendees will learn how to convert assessment findings into a repeatable service model that includes remediation planning, recurring governance reviews, executive reporting, ongoing risk monitoring, and continuous improvement. The objective is to equip MSPs with a practical framework they can adapt and operationalize within their own customer engagements.
This is a practitioner-focused workshop, not a product demonstration.
Technology platforms, including AvePoint Elements, will be discussed only in the context of collecting evidence, implementing controls, operationalizing governance processes, and scaling service delivery. The primary focus is on methodology, decision-making, remediation planning, and service execution rather than product features.
By the end of the workshop, participants will have completed:
- An AI Risk & Readiness Assessment
- A Prioritized Risk Register
- A Remediation Roadmap
- An Executive Readout
- A Recurring AI Governance Service Blueprint
Participants who successfully complete the scenario-based assessment will earn the AvePoint AI Practitioner Badge.
They will also leave with practical frameworks, assessment templates, customer discovery questions, risk-prioritization methods, remediation planning tools, and governance-review models that can be immediately adapted for their MSP practice.
Key Takeaway
AI governance is no longer a future challenge. It is a customer requirement today.
This workshop helps MSPs move beyond AI theory and develop a practical, repeatable approach to assess risk, drive remediation, and deliver ongoing AI governance services that create measurable customer value.
